I wanted to quickly post the 30 articles I did for my “30 blog post challenge”.
Doing the challenge was rough, sometimes fun, and worth it.
I hope to be doing more challenges in the future. I recommend you give it a try as well. It doesn’t have to be 30; it can be 10, 5 or 3.
If you are really struggling to get stuff done, you can challenge yourself to do 1 of something.
It makes a difference in your creative work, and you will feel it when you’ve completed a challenge.
That is not entirely accurate, but how I feel right now.
What I learned from 30 days of blogging is that I am not a huge fan of writing. I can stand it when I need to and enjoy it occasionally, but overall it isn’t for me.
Not loving writing doesn’t mean I have to renounce my dream of making a living from online business.
There are many other mediums to experiment with.
Such as:
I have a strong desire to update this website’s design and update the look of compulsivecreative.com. As a way to prepare, I am sharing my process for overhauling the look and design of a WordPress site.
It is a simple 8 steps process.
Go to websites you love and search for new blogs to see what you like and don’t like about each. I make a list of features, designs, column styles, etc. that I like on other sites and what I hate.
For example, the blog http://designshack.net/. I like the side panel and how it is designed but I hate that it is on the left of the page. People will read it first because their eyes go there, but it should be on the right side of the page like all other blogs.
Update: they recently switched their panel to the right side.
We all need to make money for our survival.
At least most of us.
We have to pay the mortgage/rent, groceries, electricity, water, sewer, and on, and on….
These things need income for payment.
However, we all have things we don’t need that we buy.
For me those are:

These are the three blogs that I check out when I need to learn something or want to get someone else’s perspective on a topic related to creating comics. Many of them have podcasts, but this article is specifically for the blogs (I will have one in the future on podcasts).
A lot of information and organized by topic. The site is specifically for promoting comic arts and graphic storytelling any interested in creating comics.
