What is Nick Radio?

Nick Radio is a brand-new online music site that is powered by iHeartRadio. The idea is to have a place individuals (mostly kids) listen to current music DJ’ed by Nickelodeon stars and also to have interviews, news, etc related to Nickelodeon’s brand.

What you can Learn from Nick Radio

With Nick Radio, the Nickelodeon brand has another way to access and keep the attention of their primary target market…. Kids!

This is something I feel many independent artists never consider when creating their brands, stories, and their business. You need to ask yourself a few important questions to strengthen your connection with those visiting your site, buying your merchandise, and enjoying your art.

  • How can you connect with your fans in a new way?
  • What would they be excited about using related to your brand?
  • Am I utilizing multiple media types to allow for different ways to experience my stories?
  • Can I collaberate with someone in another industry to expand my brand?

Conclusion

Even though many of us dislike big corporations and feel they can be exploitative of their consumers, they actually know what they are doing (well, most of the time). If you are struggling with marketing or knowing what to do next, take a look at big companies such as Marvel and DC (for comic books), Disney and Nickelodeon (animators), Random House and  Scholastic (literature), or what ever the big company is in your medium of choice.
