Kickstarter Experiment Day 5 – Exhausting Weekend

29 Days Till Kickstarter Launch

The last few days have not been as productive as I hoped. I did get some tasks completed (listed below) but not everything I had originally planned. Going forward I need to stop setting my expectation unreasonably high in what I think I should be able to accomplish.

Did you hear I have a new site?

I am hoping the audience from this site will help promote the Kickstarter campaign.

New Site Audience

2014-analytics-CC

My newest website received 413 visitors since it went live. The spike was an experiment in some online ads from Project Wonderful. I want to use ads during my Kickstarter campaign and later to promote my site.

It worked okay but half the visitors came from India because of one of the sites was in a non-English language. The ad was in English so it explains why they visited several pages.

While these numbers are not high enough to get the word out on my Kickstarter campaign, I believe once I start posting regularly the audience will quickly grow.

What I Completed Over the Weekend

  • Performed for a Credit Union’s community event.
It was in the 50’s with rain and my tent didn’t have heat. Which made me sick over the weekend.
  • Interviewed three members of my target market.
One was a teacher and explained to me it would be hard to sell to teachers in the USA because they all have to focus so heavily on standardize testing.
  • Wrote a blog post.
It still needs to be edited & posted on my site.

Next ACTION

Plan the next 29 days.

Steps & Schedule

10/7 – I have a gig at an elementary school.
10/7 – Analyze my survey data.

I would like to get one or two more.
10/8 – Determine questions to ask remaining interviewees.
10/8 – Giving a talk on Kickstarter to a group of local filmmakers.
10/9 – Plan the rest of my pre-launch.
