caaats webcomic image

In this webcomic we follow events in the lives of Hazel and Olive, two cats living together with their human.  Like a lot of popular comedic duos one is a straight man, one is the funny guy.  I haven’t really seen a funny cat-based duo before this (If you’re thinking Garfield and Nermal, I said funny) so this was refreshing!  Cats are cute and funny and now I get to enjoy them without  having to have my shoes puked on!

Page 14 of Aurora WebComicThere are about 3 ‘advertisements’ for Aurora before chapter one begins.  They look very pretty in color but I wish they would have hinted at the substance of the comic.  For me it is not enough to merely see something pretty, I need to see a preamble of the peril the girl is going to have to face.

Image from A Redtail's Dream WebcomicNormally when I look at a Webcomic I give it about 5 pages before I decide whether there’s enough reason to go on or give up.  And while I don’t consider the ‘action’ of Redtail’s to have started till about page 19 I’m content to munch on my starter until the meat arrives, especially since the appetizer is so gluttonously beautiful!  The art alone makes this particular work absolutely worthwhile.

grrrrl power panel

I’m going to mention the web comic ‘Grrl power’ in the hopes that you’ll take a gander for yourself.  What is it?  It’s a comic about ‘super heroines.’  Super duper powered females doing their thing, fighting evil and kicking general bad-guy tushie while doing the things us regular gals do, like getting a date.

Warning!
This WEBCOMIC in Inappropriate for Kids

Too Much Information Webcomic Banner

I was thumbing through various web comics (as much thumbing as one can do with a mouse, really) when I noticed that there was one comic that was not ‘drawn’, not in the traditional sense.  A completely computer generated comic titled ‘Too Much Information’.  I admit I was highly skeptical that CGI characters could pull off the affect needed to pull in a reader’s interest but they are surprisingly perfect for this comic.  While you might argue that this choice leaves the characters with a somewhat ‘plastic-ey’ look they are no less emotive for it.  Stylistically speaking, it’s winning me over.

Strays Online Webcomic Review

I’ve spent so much time flipping through so many sub-par comics that when I finally got to this little gem I almost didn’t believe that I liked it.  I like just about everything about this so far.

Why I love Strays Online

Strays Online Webcomic imageFirst things first, the artwork.  Beauty!  The joint work of creators Samantha Whitten and Stacey Pefferkor and featuring their darling main character, Meela.  Meela is a charming kid with wolf-like attributes and an unerring tenacity and sweetness of spirit.  You will love her immediately.  She’s on her own, reeling from the loss of her brother and barely surviving when our second main character, the bounty hunter called Feral, kicks his business right through her attempts at lonely survival.
